Deciphering the Significance of the Number 7 in Tarot Cards

To calculate your life path number, begin by reducing your birthdate to a single digit. For example, if you were born on April 15, 1990, you would add the numbers together like this: 4 (month) + 1 + 5 (day) + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 (year). This adds up to 29. Then, further reduce the sum to a single digit by adding the individual digits together: 2 + 9 = 11. Finally, reduce 11 to a single digit by adding its digits: 1 + 1 = 2. In this example, the life path number would be 2. Your life path number provides insight into your personality traits, strengths, weaknesses, and overall life journey.

If your life path number is 7, you’re on a journey of spiritual and intellectual discovery. It points to a path where solitary reflection and a constant quest for knowledge are prominent. When this card appears, it’s a good sign that with hard work, you’ll overcome challenges. The card is often depicted with a black and white sphinx, signifying direction and control. 

Reversed Position: A reversed Chariot suggests you’re being pulled in different directions. This lack of focus might necessitate a reassessment of your path to align with your goals. Once you are aligned with your goals, the opposing energies won’t have the power to sway you and you will have the ability to wrangle both energies towards the same target. 

Minor Arcana – The Seven of Cups

Upright Position: This cups card often relates to imagination and choice. Presented in your tarot spread, it speaks to a dream world filled with many opportunities, possibly leading to unrealistic ideals or confusion on how to move forward. Maybe you’re putting too much pressure on yourself to choose the one “perfect” path. In this situation, there is no way to know what will spill from the cup you choose so let your intuition guide you. (insider tip: sometimes it’s the more difficult path that will reveal the greatest gift, my sweet friend.) 

Reversed Position: In the reversed position, it warns against illusion and fantasy world temptations, urging you to ground your decisions in reality. Maybe you’re feeling overwhelmed with fear of making the wrong choice. If this is the case, my advice to you is to take a step back and really sink into your heart. Sometimes it’s the simple act of making a decision and taking action that can set you off in a great new direction. 

Minor Arcana – The Seven of Pentacles

Upright Position: Discussing financial matters, the Seven of Pentacles reflects on investment opportunities and the rewards of long-run hard work. It’s an encouragement to maintain patience with your current path, as it may involve nurturing golden pentacles, or opportunities, for future gain. This is a sign to keep moving in the same direction. You’re almost there – don’t give up now! 

Reversed Position: When reversed, it suggests revisiting your strategy due to potential dissatisfaction with the progress of your hard work. It can indicate that you’re maybe giving up too early without giving your seeds a chance to sprout. Lots happens below the surface in the unseen so be patient! 

Minor Arcana – The Seven of Swords

Upright Position: The Seven of Swords indicates a need for strategic action and aligning with our highest moral compass. It might involve group work where you assert your mental agility.

Reversed Position: In a reversed position, this swords card calls you to be wary of dishonesty or self-deceit and to seek transparency in difficult situations. Maybe you’re lying to yourself about something or taking more than your fair share. It’s time to stop hiding behind the curtains of your mind and come clean to yourself. Try as you may, you can’t deceive your own heart, so make it easier for yourself and come clean to you first and foremost. The rest will follow.

Upright Position: This card showcases personal power and perseverance. It’s seen as a sign of maintaining a position of advantage in face of opposition. Don’t let the haters get you down. You keep doing you, boo! 

Reversed Position: A reversed Seven of Wands may signal a loss of personal power, suggesting you reassess your approach to confrontations for better outcomes. Maybe you’re wasting your time trying to defend yourself or you feel misunderstood. Take a pause to check in that you are operating in your highest interest and then let the rest go. You’re never going to make everyone happy and if you could, you wouldn’t be acting authentically.
